I finally caught up and took some pictures of my knee highs.  I normally take my pictures on an underlit, white table, but the light cream of the socks was making that difficult.  I couldn't find any solid color fabric, so I ended up on a frantic search around the house for a flat surface in a contrasting color.

And the royal purple wall in the foyer caught my eye.  You guessed it, I taped those puppies to the wall and took a couple of snaps.  The lighting needs work, but I think my guy would hole me up in a rubber room if I brought my lights downstairs to clamp to the banister.

Since my last post, I have become entirely addicted to this stretchy cotton.  I finished my knee high socks (and still haven't taken pictures!) and have half a set of thigh high socks finished.  They're lovely, soft, look great with my snazzy shoes, and don't slide down my legs!  How much better can it get??

I really need to get cracking on some new designs for my shop, but I've been lazy.  I've got an interlac piece I need to finish for a friend, and an interlac scarf (in lime and royal blue) that I need to finish for my shop.  After that, I may make some mittens and hats, as well.  Autumn is here, and socks don't seem to be making quite the splash that I'd hoped they would.  Ah well. :)

Hopefully, my picture taking motivation will return in the next couple of days (I haven't been feeling particularly well), and we'll end the cotton adventure...at least for a little while!

I usually hate knitting with cotton but I came by some elasticized, undyed, unbleached cotton the other day, and decided that I had many, many purposes for it and that it would be delightful to knit into something equally delightful.

It hasn't been the sheer torture that I remember from the last time I decided to undertake a project in cotton, so I'm glad for that. Sections have been tedious, but I've found that a bit of talc helps things glide a bit smoother. I knit tightly and cotton seems to have as much a problem with that as acrylic does.

Either way, my first project with this elasticized, unbleached, undyed cotton is a pair of knee high socks. I'll finish the first one either later this evening or tomorrow morning, and I'm very pleased with it so far and can't wait to try it on. I've got the perfect dress to wear them with!
